Howling Woman, you are a great woman!
I've just visited your website and learned more about you. I enjoy your energy, your heart , your wisdom, humor and beauty.
It is simply remarkable that we both stood up for the power of love instead of agreeing with that enemy concept...although we are both child abuse survivors. We could easily be warriors for our whole life. We have both indeed been warriors for a while. You know what I've dicovered? Being in that warrior mode I used to hurt myself the most.
Love embraces everything, love heals everything. Nothing will ever distroy my love for the whole creation, for God& Goddess, for Mother Earth and all her children.
We are free to choose what we want to focus on and on a higher level we have chosen what we want to experience in this lifetime.
I pray everyday for protection and guidance.
So it was nice to howl with you, I've learned a lot, thank you ( and the rest of the parties in the discussion)

I thought it might be best to reply to your question here and allow some space for more discussion on the topic Hirini opened.
Here are a few thoughts about Canada.
Yes, Canada is a spacious country with a small multi-cultural population. I moved here from Colorado in 1969 after having a disagreement with the US Army.
The Provence of British Columbia, where I live, is very large. The landscape is deserve, but mostly mountainous with lots of rivers and lakes. We live in Castlegar on the Columbia River with an elevation of about 2400ft. Being only a few hundred miles away from the coast we get a considerablee amount of cloudiness and rain in the winter. This allows for fairly mild winters; usually around the freezing point with cold snaps and snow. Our four seasons are of equal duration. Gardening is big in the valley. We can grow fruit tress like cheery, apricot, peaches, and apples. We have ski resorts in the mountains for winter fun and camping at the lakes in the summer. A lot of people would like to live here but soon find out it can be challenging to make a living. The resourse economy has been mostly dependent on the US markets and much of the countries raw materials are shipped south, but this is changing. Those that don't work in the forestry or mining sectors are self employed. The chances of find work does improve when you move to bigger cities, like Vancouver. This rule also applies to social, cultural, and educational opportunities. The present government in power is conservative and slow to make change. Unfortunately some of their present policies are too much in line with the failures of the old Bush Gang. Like everyone else, we are hoping for some enlightened strategies and leadership from Mr. Obama. Our taxes are high, but some of that money is directed to our Universal Health Care System, which is sometime wrongly called Socialized Medicine by the misinformed. Canada is home to a large number of artists, musicians, and sports celebs, but most of them go to the US to gain fame and fortune. There are a number of entrenched, god fearing "red-necks" to deal with and some gang activities in the big cities, but our gun laws appear to be keeping the blood shed to a minimum. Spirituality is healthy, well established, and growing. The town of Nelson (30 miles north of Castlegar) is the most active center of spiritual based activities. What else?
Probably best if you come for a visit and check out the atmosphere for your self. Let me know if the possibility arises, I would be happy to take you for a "walk about" through my realm.

The similarities of our circumstance are evident. As you may know Jade is making preparation to go to Peru on April 11th. and I am longing to be there with him, but my economic situation is not open to the expenditure. This advances my hope of returning to Peru to some future date, which has not yet been determined. Jade has not spoken to me about his plans; if any; for attending the Shamanic conference in July.
It would be of interest to me to focus my attention on the event at this time to see if my intention to return to Peru will manifest more of the "great facilitator." and make it real. Yes it would be awesome to see your beautiful face in attendance at the conference. I will keep you posted on any developments of change.
I will check out the info on your web site and see what I can uncover.

As you might have noted we share Jade as a mutual friend. Reading your words clearly demonstrates that we share many shamanic perspectives.
