Rear View Mirror

Blessings and good health to all.

This is a most sacred time of year, when the cycle of the seasons culminate into the past and new beginnings are initiated. As the serpent turns and devours its tail, it is time to stop, take in a deep breath of meditative reflection and answer the question of the heart, "Where have we been and where are we going?"

In March of last year, I became the 360th member of World ViewZ and posted my first blog entry. The words I used then continue to ring true as we are now twice that in number. In a parallel vein, we are also aware of the growth of similar communities around the globe all working in concert towards establishing mutually beneficial ways of living. I am thankful for all the personal interaction that I have received and shared with some of you.

Together we have witnessed an unprecedented year of upheaval and change touching every institution of human construction. These changes have confronted us with a multitude of challenges that stimulate our problem solving capacities to find the "Ways" and means to survive the collapse of the old, harmful, undesirable human systems that do not serve our best interests any longer. This is the evolution of our collective consciousness in action. While the opposing polarity of unyielding permanency continues to thwart these changes by initiating violence, inflicting suffering, and instilling fear into the minds of many, we can take courage in knowing that no one suffers unnoticed or alone. Like the dinosaurs of ancient days, the obstructionists will dissolve into extinction. They have fulfilled their part in challenging our complacency, forcing us to look deep within ourselves to find the power and innovation to overcome our past mistakes and seek the ways to create a more harmonious existence. Let all be forgiven.

Our greatest asset is our capability to recognize that we are a living community of spiritual beings sharing a vision of harmonic reunification with one another. As our community grows, so does our capacity to heal our wounds, empower one another, and move forward in healthful creative directions. This is the progress we seek. While we each work individually through our personal issues and develop autonomy, we also acknowledge the divine interconnectedness of the whole that is joined together in an altruistic multicultural community effort towards establishing a peaceful enlightened existence. This is the vision that encourages us to keep up the good work so that we can step confidently forth into the new year with gifts of wisdom for the children who will inherit stewardship of this earth.

It is my desire to acknowledge all of your beauty, talents, sacrifices, and contributions that are making a real difference. May the coming year awaken all the joys of life.
