- About Me:
- Hi, My name is Michele, most people call me Shell, I am a mum of four and at present work full time as an anthropologist with Aboriginal Australians in the area of Native Title. Native a Title is the only avenue at present in Australian politics that recognises that Aboriginal people had and still continue to have their own system of law and custom that exists alongside British Law. Unfortunately in many instances Aboriginal systems of land tenure iha e been 'extinguished' by British Common Law and the onus of proof remains with Aboriginal people to demonstrate that they still maintain a 'traditional' form of connection with their land and waters. As a non-Indigenous person I often find myself questioning my position in this work. Ultimately my heart tells me I have a place in bridging the gap between these two systems. I hope to contribute to the official recognition of Traditiional Owners as well as assist non-Indigenous Australians to understand that difference does not mean less than. My personal interests remain firmly bedded in the transformative healing disciplines of astrology and shamanism. I like the idea of bridging the gap between heaven and earth with these two areas, and as a Virgo, my heart is always seeking ways to serve others by assisting them to obtain a deeper connection with themselves and their world.
