Kia Ora - Greetings Robert
Wonderful to have you as a friend. For me a ceremony is a time of focussing your intent/love, to grow more love/peace. Ceremony can be very private - just you or it can be with others. It is a time when you can call forth the support of all guardians of light, love and life (physical and non physical) to join with you in the purpose of the ceremony. When it comes to matters of spirit and the heart there are no physical boundaries. There are many ways you can hold ceremony. For me the most potent are when I/we connect with the heart of Earth Mother (Nature) and Sky Father (Cosmos), and all light ancestors and guardians. It matters not that I cannot see them, my feelings become strong and I sense they are always there with me/us. In our culture like many ancient cultures we have personal names for earth mother, sky father, tree, mountain, ocean and so forth. So we talk with them in a personal way - to us they are able to communicate but we must listen with our heart ears and see with our heart eyes.

I see you live near the sea. Here is a simple, impromptu ceremony held with a group of new friends who had come over to New Zealand. I took them out to the ocean not far from where I live. Upon arriving we assembled at the waters edge and each spoke to grandmother/grandfather ocean about our purpose and asked for permission to enter the water. We took special stones/crystals to wash/cleanse in the water. We created a circle. The visitors spread a cloth inside the circle and placed the stones and other special objects they had brought. One of the women then stood and led a blessing and call to the four directions (north, south, east, west). She spoke of their group purpose and called on the forces of nature and cosmos to assist in their purpose. We sang a song then closed the ceremony.

Remember matters of the heart and spirit are not confined by a physical body. When you communicate from a space of pure intent/pure love you will activate your desrie - to help the people of Africa. She is a very ancient land and said to be the birthplace of humanity, so my heart is with you Robert. Let me know when you intend to hold ceremony for this and I will focus my intent with you during that time.
